Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily inmate routines, including meals, headcounts, and movements
  • Monitor and report any safety or security concerns
  • Conduct searches of cells and common areas to maintain a secure environment
  • Oversee activities such as work programs and visits
  • Enforce rules fairly and consistently while treating people with respect

Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Current driver's license
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or permanent residency
  • Willingness to complete the Certificate III in Correctional Practice
  • Meet the medical standards to become a Correctional Officer and maintain a reasonable level of fitness
  • Body art or modifications on visible areas are prohibited
