As a Compliance and Investigation Professional, you will provide expert guidance, supervision, and support to our team members in their investigation work.
You will be responsible for leading complex investigations, managing complaints, reviewing contested infringement notices, and contributing to the enforcement of municipal by-laws and relevant legislation.
The role involves providing high-level investigation and complaints management services to our Regulatory Services team, as well as contributing to the delivery of our Community Plan.
This includes investigation management, complaints management, community education, stakeholder relationships, and supervision of our Regulatory Services team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to team members in investigation work
- Leading complex investigations, managing complaints, and reviewing contested infringement notices
- Contributing to the enforcement of municipal by-laws and relevant legislation
- Providing high-level investigation and complaints management services to Regulatory Services
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a regulatory or law enforcement background
- Experience in negotiation and mediation with people and external stakeholders in high-conflict situations
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated experience leading complex investigations and making recommendations to senior management
- Ability to competently manage difficult situations and people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and high level of customer service skills
- Sound administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Qualifications:
- Diploma in Government Investigations or similar qualification
