Credit Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Manager to oversee and manage the credit operations and policies of our organisation. As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, setting credit limits, monitoring construction performance, and minimising credit risks.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of credit management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing sound decision-making skills in the assessment of client applications involving small to large clients with annual turnover starting from $1m to $100m+.
- Evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of credit assessments of a growing portfolio of residential builders including annual renewals, new applications and interim assessments as required.
- Monitoring and enforcing credit policies, making necessary adjustments to mitigate risks and optimise underwriting performance of the business.
- Collaborating with sales teams and customers to gather necessary information and resolve credit related issues.
- Consistent credit decisioning to balance commercial imperatives with risk appetite by the business.
- Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement including training junior underwriters.
- Managing and directing other credit professionals.
The experience required is:
- Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial finance or credit related insurance product with at least 5 of those in credit risk.
- Construction or commercial property lending experience preferred.
- Strong numerical and financial analysis skills including the ability to discuss financial reports and associated information with stakeholders.
- Preferably held a credit approval authority limit working in corporate/business lending / commercial underwriting.
