About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Front Office Portfolio team as an Associate / Vice President, Credit & Portfolio. This role will play a key part in managing credit risk for GCIB Oceania within the Diversified Industries (DI) stream.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in institutional lending and credit research, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will be responsible for managing a portfolio of DI clients, conducting annual credit reviews, and supporting the Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads in managing credit proposals for new transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of DI clients, including listed or private groups across various DI sectors
  • Conduct annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews
  • Monitor covenant compliance and support refinancing and other revenue initiatives
  • Coordinate within the MUFG network and interact with clients on tasks required for on-boarding and account management
  • Support the national GCIB Credit & Portfolio team in leading portfolio analysis and strategic review processes
  • Lead members of the Portfolio team in managing customer risk and limit allocation
  • Support the on-boarding/origination of new DI clients as part of our local, regional, and global growth plans
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in institutional lending and credit research. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-10 years' experience in institutional lending and credit research (VP) or 2-5 years' experience (Associate)
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Solid mathematical knowledge, Excel spreadsheet skills, research & analytical skills
  • Broad Australian industry, business, and economic understanding
  • Ability to engage in independent research & analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong financial analysis acumen and ability to assess large sets of data, make expert judgment, and identify key risks
  • Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
  • Sound platform of knowledge in credit writing, financial analysis and modelling, legal documentation and debt structuring
  • Self-starter with drive, initiative, and enthusiasm
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and prioritise various work
