We are seeking a seasoned Senior/Lead Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Energy Team, located in Sydney. This role will work with the broader enterprise to service clients and deliver projects in the power sector across the full project lifecycle.

Job Description

This position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
  • Undertaking concept design and preparing documentation for power generation and renewable energy projects.
  • Leading and overseeing the work of project teams to achieve project milestones and objectives; includes allocating tasks, ensuring compliance, setting priorities, reprioritizing as required, and coordinating and supervising the daily activities of project teams.
  • Contributing to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in power generation engineering including planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and demolition.
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Leveraging background/contacts to developing business and contributing to winning work.
  • Development of tender responses to sell GHD's services.

In terms of salary, we expect this role to be compensated around AU$180,000 per annum, based on industry standards and market rates for similar positions in the region.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Formal qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (BEng or equivalent acceptable to Engineers Australia).
  • CPEng and RPEQ desirable.
  • 10+ years' experience in power generation projects.
  • Experience in the design of renewables (solar, wind, PHES, BESS).
  • Experience performing energy yield assessments for solar farms or wind farms desirable, concept design, and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with relevant software packages (HOMER, PVSyst, WindPRO, Thermoflow).
  • Experience and a sound understanding of current power generation technologies, including methods of installation, operation, and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of renewable project planning and development processes.
