The role involves assisting clients with daily tasks such as meal planning and preparation, domestic chores, transportation, and supporting their cultural and linguistic needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with meal planning, preparation, and cooking as required.
- Providing transportation for clients to and from their destinations.
- Acknowledging and responding to the needs of Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals.
- Accepting and respecting clients' rights to their own views, values, and preferences.
- Building relationships based on trust with clients and their families or advocates.
- Facilitating and encouraging activities that promote independence and well-being.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work flexibly and respond to changing situations. A safe and reliable vehicle is also essential.
Required skills and qualifications include:
- NDIS Workers Screening or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Police Check.
- CPR and First Aid Certificate (current).
- Valid Victorian driver's licence and a safe and reliable vehicle.
- Working rights in Australia.
- Capacity to meet the physical demands of the job.
