About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced National Safety, Compliance, and Training Manager to join our team at Logical Executive Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing all Work Health and Safety/Chain of Responsibility (WHS/COR) compliance requirements on behalf of our clients in the transport and logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- WHS/COR Compliance: Implement, maintain, and enhance WHS Management Systems to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
- Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of WHS-related policies and procedures.
- Workplace Inspections: Undertake workplace inspections and reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislative provisions.
- Workers Compensation: Ensure the effective management of workers' compensation, including injury management and return-to-work procedures.
- Health and Safety Auditing: Conduct health and safety auditing and hazard management to ensure a safe working environment.
- Compliance Management: Manage WHS/COR compliance requirements on behalf of our clients, ensuring all parties are aware of their obligations and responsibilities.
- Regulatory Engagement: Represent our clients by working with regulatory bodies, government departments, and stakeholders engaged by our clients to support supply chain logistics.
- Training and Development: Ensure all required business units and employees are provided with training and have the knowledge to comply with legislative requirements.
- Reporting and Compliance: Ensure that appropriate reporting management systems are in place to demonstrate compliance to Health and Safety and heavy vehicle legislation.
- Auditing and Investigations: Complete internal audits as scheduled, ensuring effective communication and management of internal audit findings and recommendations to resolve corrective actions. Lead investigations into all Heavy Vehicle incidents and develop preventive and corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Logistics, OH&S, Training/Education, Management, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years' experience in a similar role, with experience leading and managing the training and compliance and/or safety function in a medium to large transport business or experience providing driver training and/or education services to the transport industry.
- Knowledge and Competency: Demonstrated working knowledge and competency in the area of heavy vehicle compliance management (Mass, NHVAS, COR, fatigue) in either an operational or regulatory context.
- Skills: Ability to set effective priorities, assess abilities, strategic planning, and efficiency.
