Senior Merchandise Strategy Director

We are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandise Strategy Director to lead our merchandise planning team and drive the end-to-end inventory management process. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that align with business objectives, creating compelling assortment plans that execute the merchandise strategy, driving seasonal re-forecasts across product groups, and owning and managing the Open-To-Buy process.

This is a key leadership role within our company, requiring a strong leader who can coach and develop a team of experienced planners. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive results-oriented solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive budget and open-to-buy plans that align with business goals and objectives
  • Create and manage compelling assortment plans that execute the merchandise strategy
  • Drive seasonal re-forecasting processes across product groups to ensure accurate demand forecasting
  • Own and manage the Open-To-Buy process to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced planners to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • Extensive retail planning experience at senior level from another high-volume and fast-paced retailer
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and margin targets in a dynamic and competitive environment
  • Proven leadership skills in coaching and developing a team of planners to achieve business objectives
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in best-in-class merchandise planning applications
