We are seeking an accomplished Sous Chef with strong leadership skills and culinary expertise to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and adhering to high cleanliness and safety standards.

This is a full-time position requiring a collaborative leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, driving consistency and presentation excellence in all dishes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities to meet the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  • Maintain impeccable presentation and consistency across all dishes, adhering to established quality control measures.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving supplies and ingredients, ensuring timely delivery and effective stock control.
  • Sustain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment that meets rigorous food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering growth and development within the team.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative menu items and seasonal specials that cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
  • In the absence of the Executive Chef, take charge of kitchen operations, making decisive decisions that align with the organization's vision and goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of portion and waste control, providing actionable insights to drive profitability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a dynamic kitchen environment.
  • Formal culinary training or relevant certifications preferred, with a deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Superior leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Certification in Food Safety.
  • Experience with inventory systems and cost control procedures.
  • Creative flair and passion for culinary excellence.
