Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and cocktail bar located in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD. We offer a stylish and welcoming atmosphere with seating for up to 80 customers, providing both dine-in and takeaway food and drink options. Our commitment is to provide an exceptional customer experience, with every detail carefully considered for their comfort and enjoyment. We serve certified organic coffee from Quest Coffee Roasters, available both for purchase and in our delicious coffee creations.

**We are looking for a Barista All Rounder / Kitchen Hand** **to join our team**

**Position**: Barista All Rounder / Kitchen Hand
**Hours**: 6-24 hours/week (including Fri + Sat evenings once we open for dinners). _Working hours will comply with all relevant employment regulations for young workers._
**Rate**: Above Award $24.00 to $34.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates (Suitable for High School and Uni Students). _Rates comply with all Fair Work Australia regulations, including junior wage rates_

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Food Preparation**: Assist in food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, as well as portioning ingredients.
- **Assisting Chefs and Cooks**: Provide support to chefs and cooks during meal preparation, including retrieving ingredients and utensils.
- **Kitchen Equipment Maintenance**: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, stovetops, grills, and deep fryers. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- **Prepares and sells coffee drinks and other beverages** by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques such as, espresso, latte, cold brew, milkshake, and smoothie.
- **Running Food**: Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.
- **Clearing and Cleaning Tables**:Keeping the dining area tidy and presentable, clearing tables after customers leave, and promptly resetting them for the next guests.
- **General Cleaning**: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and equipment.
- **Dishwashing**: Ensuring timely and efficient cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain a smooth workflow and support kitchen operations.
- **Customer Service at Till**: Assisting customers at the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly and attentive service.
- **Handling and Serving Food**: Preparing and serving food items, such as pastries, sandwiches, and snacks, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
- **Assisting with Opening and Closing**:Supporting the team in preparing the cafe for opening and ensuring all tasks are completed at the end of the day for a smooth closing process.
- **Maintains a safe and healthy work environment** by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulations

**ABOUT YOU**

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2 or more years of recent experience as a kitchen hand, cook, or barista.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Familiarity with Food Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

NICE TO HAVE
- Certification in Hospitality, Cookery, or related industry.
- Consistent and well practiced latte art.
- Experienced in a fast paced cafe or kitchen setting

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in Australia
- Minimum 16 years old
- Availability to work Fri and Sat evenings.
- Loves cooking and hospitality
- Ability to reliably commute to Broadbeach
