
Chief Information Governance Officer

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of information across an organization. The Information Governance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing day-to-day information governance activities, including Subject Access Requests, Freedom of Information Act requirements, GDPR compliance, Data Security and Protection Toolkit management, and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the system used for monitoring SARs and information governance incidents, conducting investigations as needed, and escalating data breach incidents when required.
- Develop and deliver training on information governance, including cyber security and data protection, to enhance service quality and safety.
- Provide specialist knowledge and advice on all aspects of Information Governance to patients, staff, and colleagues at all levels.
- Manage risk related to IG, including regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Hold a degree qualification or equivalent experience in Information Governance and Data Protection.
- Possess a GDPR/Data Protection qualification or be willing to work towards it.
- Have significant experience in implementing DPIAs, Data Processing and Sharing Agreements within a health or social care organization.
- Familiar with Data Security and Protection Toolkit requirements and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
