Information Governance Manager

We have a great opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join our Governance and Quality Team.

As Information Governance Manager you will manage and implement day to day information governance activities for (but not limited to) Subject Access Requests (SARs), the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), application of GDPR, management of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, Data Protection Impact Assessments and information sharing agreements.

You will also act as Deputy Data Protection Officer, providing expert advice to the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), Caldicott Guardian and wider staff.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Act as administrator for the Ulysses system monitoring SARs and information governance incidents and carrying out investigations when required.
• Identify and escalate data breach incidents and manage external reporting where required.
• Lead the development, deliver and monitor information governance training including cyber security and data protection.
• Implement appropriate methods to capture and report on data that supports Information Governance to enhance the quality and safety of services in addition to achieving key performance indicators.
• Provide specialist knowledge and advice across all aspects of Information Governance to patients, service users, members of the public and colleagues at all levels of the organisation
• Manage the identification, assessment, reporting and management of risk in relation to all aspects of IG including regular reporting to the SIRO/Head of Quality & Safety

About You
You will have:

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience of working in an Information Governance and Data Protection field.
• GDPR / Data Protection qualification or willingness to work towards.
• Significant experience of implementing DPIAs, Data Processing and Sharing Agreements within a health or social care organisation.
• Experience of leading an information governance framework including handling Freedom of Information Act requirements,
• Information Security, IG statutory compliance,
• Records Management and Caldicott Guardian issues
• Experience of Data Security and Protection Toolkit requirements and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
• Experience of decision-making and prioritising in a health and social care setting.
• Experience of managing a team.
