Are you a strong and culturally grounded leader with a passion for improving Aboriginal health outcomes? Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) is seeking a committed and strategic Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) to support the CEO and lead the organisation's public health and social and emotional wellbeing programs.

About the Role

As Deputy CEO, you will provide cultural leadership across the organisation while ensuring programs and operations deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate services to the Bourke community. You will oversee program management, funding contracts, stakeholder engagement, and support governance and compliance processes.

This role works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to implement the organisation's strategic direction, strengthen community engagement, and enhance program outcomes that make a tangible difference in the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow BACHS' primary health and wellbeing programs, ensuring cultural safety and responsiveness.
  • Manage government funding contracts and reporting requirements.
  • Provide leadership to program staff, ensuring professional development and high performance.
  • Support governance and accountability processes, including finance and administration.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with community, government, and stakeholders to advance Aboriginal health outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Health Administration, Business Management or related field.
  • Extensive experience managing health programs in an Aboriginal community context.
  • Strong knowledge of government funding processes and program management.
  • Demonstrated cultural leadership and ability to engage Aboriginal communities.
  • Proven people leadership, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Strong governance, financial management, and compliance experience.
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current driver's licence and ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
The Package

$130,000 - $150,000 + superannuation + full salary packaging.

A quality 3-bedroom home and vehicle included.

Full-time, permanent role based in Bourke, NSW.

Relocation assistance available.
