
Business Development Director

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering commercial capability and leadership within our business. You will report directly to the Head of Commercial and be responsible for managing significant commercial issues and leading negotiations.
The role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. You will be accountable for providing commercial guidance for our High Frequency Surveillance (HFS) Program, including managing commercial obligations and providing direction on compliance with contract and government requirements.
- Manage commercial obligations of HFS projects and provide guidance/direction to the program on compliance with contract and Australian government requirements.
- Lead the HFS Commercial team and provide line management and functional guidance and support.
- Manage and foster engaging relationships with internal and external customers and cross-business/functional requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- In-depth commercial experience, preferably in defence or engineering organisations.
- Sound commercial acumen with an ability to influence stakeholders and generate business benefits while maintaining key relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to motivate the team across multiple business areas to shape and implement business requirements.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements.
