Energy Regulation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Regulation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and investors to shape regulatory frameworks and support strategic decision-making across the energy sector.

Your primary focus will be on leading and contributing to projects involving network regulation, pricing, and performance. You will also advise on regulatory resets, investment strategy, and compliance under national energy rules.

  • You will deliver financial and economic analysis, including revenue modelling, WACC estimation, and forecasting.
  • You will monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients.
  • You will engage with stakeholders across industry, government, and regulatory bodies.
  • You will support reform initiatives and regulatory submissions.

This is an opportunity to work on high-impact projects that influence the future of Australia's energy infrastructure. To succeed in this role, you will need strong knowledge of electricity transmission and distribution frameworks, as well as experience with financial modelling tools such as PTRM and scenario analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to projects involving network regulation, pricing, and performance
  • Advise on regulatory resets, investment strategy, and compliance under national energy rules
  • Deliver financial and economic analysis, including revenue modelling, WACC estimation, and forecasting
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on clients
  • Engage with stakeholders across industry, government, and regulatory bodies
  • Support reform initiatives and regulatory submissions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in economic regulation, ideally within consulting, a regulatory agency, or a utility
  • Strong understanding of electricity transmission and distribution frameworks
  • Skilled in financial modelling tools such as PTRM and scenario analysis
  • Familiarity with the National Electricity Market and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
