Job Title: Senior Associate Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Associate Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, particularly application of two-dimensional hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW), as well as hydrological modelling and assessments (DRAINS, RORB, WBNM and XP RAFTS). They will also have knowledge of Australian Rainfall and Runoff and relevant guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver surface water engineering projects to a broad range of clients across multiple sectors.
  • Undertake work that involves the application of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, including TUFLOW and DRAINS.
  • Work with staff to develop models and prepare quality reports for internal and external clients on time and within set deadlines.
  • Develop and enhance relationships between internal and external clients and team members.
  • Contribute to winning proposals by developing methodologies and identifying value propositions.
  • Provide advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members, and project managers on best practices.
  • Assess and input into design of water-related structures, such as dams, levees, and diversions.
Requirements:
  • Engineering tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, particularly application of two-dimensional hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW).
  • Experience in hydrological modelling and assessments (DRAINS, RORB, WBNM and XP RAFTS) and understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff and relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Knowledge of associated areas of surface water engineering, such as stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, water quality assessment, streamflow assessments, and flood risk analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and ability to work effectively within a team.
