Technical Service Engineer Role

This role involves delivering high-quality service support to customers across Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and qualification of laboratory and bioprocessing equipment.

  • The Technical Service Engineer is expected to work collaboratively with the Equipment Services Team to ensure customer satisfaction, equipment uptime, and GMP-compliant operations.
  • Key responsibilities include performing installation, qualification (IQ/OQ), preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Cytiva's lab-scale and bioprocessing equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service experience or a relevant technical discipline such as biomedical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering/technician, or computer science.

Strong hands-on technical skills, proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, and proficiency with computer systems and networking are essential.

A keen attention to detail, a strong interest in working within GMP-regulated environments supporting critical therapeutic drug production, and passion for the life sciences industry are also desirable.

Job Requirements
  • More than 4 years of field service experience or an early-career biomedical engineer, automation engineer, mechatronics engineer, electrical engineer/technician, or computer science graduate eager to grow in the life sciences industry.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient with computer systems and networking, capable of setting up and troubleshooting software and hardware in customer environments.
  • Keen attention to detail and a strong interest in working within GMP-regulated environments supporting critical therapeutic drug production.
  • Passionate about the life sciences industry, customer-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a remote, collaborative team.
Travel and Motor Vehicle Requirements
  • Ability to travel – an average of 50% travel across Australia and New Zealand for training and field work, with occasional international travel.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry tools and equipment and perform service tasks on benchtop instruments and large-scale systems.
