
Diabetes Care Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Diabetes Care Specialist. As a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide patient-centered and high-quality nutrition services to clients.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide nutritional care to patients as per caseload, participate in education and evaluation, supervise students and junior dietitians, and engage in ongoing professional development.
You will work closely with the Diabetes Service team, primarily in outpatient settings, with some involvement with diabetes inpatients who require dietetic intervention.
The role supports a temporary assignment until October 2026, with potential extension at same/reduced hours. The service redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will enhance capabilities with new equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient-centered and high-quality nutrition services to clients.
- Participate in education and evaluation, including developing and implementing educational programs.
- Supervise students and junior dietitians, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and industry trends.
- Postgraduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the relevant industry association.
- Relevant clinical experience, including advanced practice skills and management of complex caseloads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, group education skills, and computer skills, including proficiency in CBORD.
- Experience and knowledge in service development and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability in clinical supervision of students and/or staff.
