The role of Staff Specialist offers an opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care as a key member of the Mental Health Service at Campbelltown Hospital.
About Our Adult Mental Health ServicesWe deliver recovery-focused care through our specialised units, including:
- Mental Health High Dependency Unit (HDU)
- Older People Mental Health Unit
- Civil Rehabilitation Mental Health Unit
A cross-functional team focuses on patient-centered care, ensuring safety and consumer advocacy to support recovery.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for managing and treating patients in our South Western Sydney Local Health District facility under your care, with clinical privileges granted by our Chief Executive on the advice of the Medical Appointments Advisory Committee.
Requirements- You must hold current registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia and have specialist recognition from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
- You must demonstrate current clinical practice of a high standard and be able to adapt to evidence-based practice.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management is essential.
- You must have experience in teaching/training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Continuing professional development is expected.
- You must be willing to participate in on-call rosters and work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.
