About The Role

Our team is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic and supportive environment. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs.

The successful candidate will be provided with an opportunity to participate in improving people's lives by delivering person-centred services. You will work with a range of clients across the age span with various needs, from short-term involvement to complex, long-term needs.

  • Provide behaviour support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs, as well as complex mental health issues and trauma-based presentations;
  • Conduct assessments of clients' presenting issues and support needs, identifying appropriate supports, interventions, and service models;
  • Design, develop, and implement intervention plans and strategies;
  • Facilitate the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
  • Provide client support, including clinic or home-based sessions, training, and resource development;
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

You will be working with a diverse range of clients, including those with developmental trauma, developmental disability, neurodevelopmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and mental health issues. Our office base is in Darwin, but we also offer opportunities to work regionally and within remote Indigenous communities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline relevant to the field of behaviour support;
  • A minimum of 2 years experience providing direct behaviour support, and registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner;
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  • Experience providing clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention, and support in the disability, out-of-home care, and/or other relevant sectors.
