Recently JMJ is expanding services in Queensland. We are dedicated to supporting individuals in living independent and fulfilling lives.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervising or providing a wide range of personal care services to clients under limited supervision either individually or as part of a team of the part of the delivery of disability services.

  • Effectively and efficiently manage client's behaviour of concern.

  • Implement strategies and approaches under the client's behaviour support plan and actively participate in trainings/meeting with the client's behaviour support specialist.

  • Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning, food preparation, and shopping.

  • Assisting in the development or implementation of resident care plans or the planning, cooking, or preparation of the full range of meals under limited supervision either individually or as part of a team of the delivery of disability services.

  • Monitor, or assist client/s with some medication. Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and client right's policies including privacy and confidentiality.

  • Train clients to care for themselves and educate family members.

  • Implementing client skills and activities programmes under limited supervision either individually or as part of a team of the delivery of disability service.

  • Perform administrative duties especially proper documentation and reporting under the company guidelines as well as the National Disability Insurance Scheme ('NDIS') Incident Management and Incident Reporting.

  • Improve wellbeing and independence of clients.

What we're looking for

  • At least Certificate III Individual Support or related disability support/community service course

  • A year of Personal Care or Support Work experience in a disability sector

  • If no relevant qualification, at least 2 years full-time experience required

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

  • NT Drivers Licence

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

  • Police Check Clearance

  • Working with Children Clearance

  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.

  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.

  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner

  • Fulfilment of Key Performance Indicators

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $33.00 – $75.00 per hour
