Senior IR Specialist

This role is for a seasoned industrial relations professional to lead our strategic agenda and support business operations in employee relations best practice.

Purpose and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic senior specialist to lead and support strategy, case management, development and endorsement of key policies and enterprise agreement implementation across diverse workforces.

  • Lead bargaining negotiations and manage compliance
  • Provide expert advice on ER/IR issues including performance management, grievances, and disciplinary matters
  • Interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work legislation to support business operations
  • Build manager capability through coaching, training, and policy development
  • Represent the business in Fair Work and other industrial forums as required

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field are required, along with relevant experience in an ER/IR-focused role, ideally in complex environments.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and EA negotiation frameworks, proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels with confidence and credibility, strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills, and experience in waste management, utilities, or transport sectors.
