As a Natural Hazard & Reinsurance Modelling Advisor, you will deliver high-quality modelling insights across natural perils and reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimization, and allocation.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling.
- Provide technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify modelling and analytical workflows.
- Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results.
- Foster strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs.
- 5+ years experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to general insurance.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, and SAS; Python experience desirable.
- Excellent communication and business writing skills.
- Ability to manage small to medium projects independently.
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired.
