Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, maintain and enhance modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting and reinsurance program optimisation.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling.
  • Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate and simplify modelling and analytical workflows.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results.
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL and SAS; Python experience desirable.
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills.
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects independently.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired.
