About Catastrophe Modelling Role

\

You will be working as part of the analytics team on delivering services to clients, providing support to teams, and developing insights into models and perils in the Pacific region.
This opportunity is ideal for a suitable candidate to apply their analytical knowledge and project management skills to high-profile clients while developing their consulting and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • \
  • Delivering analytical services to clients across the Pacific region and supporting teams.\
  • Managing analytical work for various clients and internal projects.\
  • Utilising commercial and in-house models to generate outputs and interpret results.\
  • Collaborating with actuarial teams to provide analysis for clients and prospects.\
  • Conducting model evaluation studies for Australia and New Zealand.\
  • Using climate model outputs and integrating them with catastrophe risk models for adjustments and projections.\
  • Providing real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients post-event.\
  • Establishing and maintaining client relationships, resolving questions and challenges.\
  • Performing administrative duties, including compliance adherence.\
  • Honours or Master's degree in Geosciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields required.\
  • Experience with catastrophe modelling software like RiskLink and/or Touchstone, ideally 3-5 years.\
  • Knowledge of database and data processing tools, including SQL Server and Alteryx, beneficial.\
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.\
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach necessary.\
  • Project management experience.\
  • Ability to organise and synthesise large datasets.\
