Job Overview

The Senior Regulatory Officer plays a key role in supporting regulatory practice reforms and initiatives within the legislative frameworks. This position focuses on providing recommendations, advice, and information in accordance with good administrative decision-making and best-practice regulation.

This individual will be responsible for undertaking regulatory activities and making recommendations to support the unit in accordance with legislation and principles of good administrative decision making.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Provide data-informed recommendations and communicate decisions and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Identify and address sector risk using risk-based decision making, exercise powers, gather evidence, and escalate matters as required.
  • Contribute to effective record-keeping practices, data quality assurance, and appropriate use of regulatory systems.
  • Implement operational policy initiatives using feedback, evaluation, and data analysis to improve regulatory processes to meet obligations under relevant legislation.
