Job Opportunity

Seeking a Senior Regulatory Officer to support regulatory practice reforms and initiatives within relevant legislative frameworks. The role focuses on providing recommendations, advice, and information in accordance with good administrative decision-making and best-practice regulation.

">Responsibilities
  • Undertaking regulatory activities and making recommendations to support the unit in accordance with the legislation and principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Providing data-informed recommendations, interpreting legislation accurately, and communicating decisions and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Identifying and addressing sector risk using risk-based decision making, exercising powers, gathering evidence, and escalating matters as required.
  • Contributing to effective record-keeping practices, data quality assurance, and appropriate use of regulatory systems.
  • Implementing operational policy initiatives using feedback, evaluation, and data analysis to improve regulatory processes to meet obligations under relevant legislation.
  • Providing high-quality advice and managing expectations of internal and external stakeholders including parents, governing bodies of non-state schools, sector representative bodies, and the public on regulatory activities.
  • Preparing accurate, well-written communications on regulation-related matters including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions, and recommendations.
About You

You will be highly organized, capable of navigating complex issues, and possess well-developed conceptual, analytical, and communication skills. You should be able to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment, analyze matters, make sound judgments, and recommendations, manage a high volume of work, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
