Job Summary:

The position of Regulatory Lead is a key role within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve regulatory outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and leading assessment and rating squads, including providing support and guidance to officers; management of high-risk matters; management of testing; moderation of reports where appropriate; sampling reports; liaison with regional offices; and overseeing data entry.
  • Providing high-level documentation, including Ministerial responses, briefs, project plans, reports, and FOI requests.
  • Leading project work as requested and representing the organization in groups and communities of practice.
  • Making complex decisions and providing advice to senior management on regulatory issues while considering the legal and policy implications.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a regulator or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector;
  • Experience managing and leading teams;
  • Ability to analyze evidence and create analysis;
  • Well-developed management and leadership skills;
  • A strong background in the assessment and rating of early childhood education and care services;
  • Be highly organized, flexible, and able to manage competing priorities;
  • Experience in preparation of accurate, well-written communication on a range of matters including Ministerial responses, requests for information, reports, briefs, and recommendations;
  • Experience in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with both internal staff and external stakeholders.
