About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Integration Platforms and Services to join our Technology function at Virgin Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evolving and maintaining our Integration Platforms to drive business agility, accelerate modernization, and unlock efficiencies across Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of our Integration Platforms, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of technical designers, developers, and platform engineers to deliver large-scale integration platform initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and ensure seamless integration with other platforms and systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and reduce costs across the Integration Platform.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, PCI, and Privacy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Extensive experience in IT leadership roles, with a strong background in engineering and support of enterprise integration platforms.
  • Sound understanding of microservices technology and architecture, with experience in building and leading high-performing development teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical skills, with experience in API/integration/microservice principles, patterns, and best practices, as well as knowledge of SOA/ESB technologies, REST/ SOAP web services, and API gateways.
