About the Role
The Emergency Department at Northern Beaches Hospital is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and dedicated team. As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and clinical support to the department, ensuring efficient and effective management of the area and coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational direction for the department to ensure efficient and effective management of the area
- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based
- Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively
- Ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels
- Undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team
Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check
- Previous experience at NUM 1 level or equivalent
- More than 5 years Emergency Nursing experience
- Post Graduate qualification in Emergency Nursing
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care
- High degree of computer literacy
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
- Demonstrated human resource management experience
