Nurse Unit Manager Position in Port Augusta

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager at the Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service, part of the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network.
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for upholding high practice standards, guiding and developing less experienced staff, and supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leading your team.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with fellow AN/MUMs and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager to promote continuity and consistency of care, assisting in implementing practice changes that enhance patient outcomes and service quality, and contributing to key management tasks such as performance reviews, recruitment, staffing, leave and roster management, as well as financial and supply planning.

About the ServiceThe Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services.
The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds, and also has chemotherapy services and a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
You will also need to have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife, and demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses is also highly desirable.
