Job Title: Risk Governance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Governance Manager to join our team at Westpac Group. As a key member of our Group Reporting and Analytics team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a strong and efficient control environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney, with a hybrid working environment that includes 3 days in the office. You will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining a framework that sets out key principles and standards for Group Reporting and Analytics.
  • Strengthening the control framework and enhancing reporting governance.
  • Providing guidance on compliance with policies for returns prepared by Group Reporting Analytics.
  • Leveraging process maps, standard operating procedures, and reporting frameworks to enhance financial and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Providing governance and oversight in relation to report controls and issue and incident management.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to projects that impact Group Reporting and Analytics control environment.
  • Supporting enhancement and remediation of risk reporting and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in reporting and control environment.
  • Risk assessing reports and recommending prioritization of report remediation.
  • Providing expert knowledge and collaborating with the Group Reporting and Analytics team to design and build dashboards, reports, and papers for senior management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' relevant work experience in risk governance, ideally within banking, financial services, or consulting firms.
  • Exposure or knowledge of Prudential and Accounting Standards.
  • Exposure or understanding of APRA regulatory reporting.
  • Audit or compliance experience in credit or finance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a relevant degree.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
