About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our project controls team, you will be responsible for analyzing project cost performance, tracking expenditures, and forecasting future costs to support budget management and financial planning.

You will also mentor and support junior project controls staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring consistency and accuracy in project controls practices.

Additionally, you will monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.

Quantity surveying to audit project progress is also a key responsibility.

Proficiency in project management software such as MS Excel, Oracle, EcoSys, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent is preferred.

You will coordinate with the project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant data and inputs for project controls activities.

Preparing regular reports and presentations on project performance, providing insights and recommendations to project teams and clients is a critical aspect of this role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in engineering, data management/analytics, project management, business administration, or a related field.

Proven experience in a similar position within project controls, preferably in the mining & minerals industry or related sectors, is essential.

Proficiency in advanced data analysis and reporting, with expertise in applications such as Power Pivot and Power BI, is also required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, are necessary.

Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide team members toward common goals, is also required.

Knowledge of mining industry regulations, standards, and best practices is desirable.

Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are a plus.
