About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our project controls team, you will be responsible for analyzing project cost performance, tracking expenditures, and forecasting future costs to support budget management and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project cost performance and track expenditures to identify areas for improvement
- Forecast future costs and develop strategies to manage project budgets
- Mentor and support junior project controls staff to ensure consistency and accuracy in project controls practices
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and delays
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant data and inputs for project controls activities
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on project performance to provide insights and recommendations to project teams and clients
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in engineering, data management/analytics, project management, business administration, or a related field. You will also need to have proven experience in a similar position within project controls, preferably in the mining & minerals industry or related sectors.
Requirements
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Excel, Oracle, EcoSys, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, with expertise in applications such as Power Pivot and Power BI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide team members toward common goals
- Knowledge of mining industry regulations, standards, and best practices is desirable
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are a plus
