DCOH, a leading hospitality company in the Northern Territory, has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Head Chef to join our team.
We are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through culinary excellence and outstanding service. With a portfolio of hotels and venues, including Novotel Darwin CBD, The Smith Hotel, and Frontier Hotel, we offer a diverse range of culinary challenges and opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing kitchen teams and driving culinary innovation in fast-paced environments. As a key member of our Thyme Hospitality team, you will be responsible for developing seasonal menus, training and mentoring staff, and ensuring seamless operations in multiple outlets.
Culinary Excellence:
- Develop and implement innovative menus that showcase local flavors and trends, while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on efficient cooking techniques, product knowledge, and cuisine standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and leverage them to enhance menu design and operations.
Team Leadership:
- Foster a collaborative and respectful kitchen environment that promotes open communication and teamwork.
- Recruit, train, and develop motivated and high-performing kitchen teams that drive business success.
- Conduct regular team briefings to align on standards, updates, and feedback.
Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee daily mise-en-place preparation and stock control to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage equipment care, maintain cleanliness, and prolong lifespan to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and stock levels to optimize resource usage.
Financial Management:
- Achieve profit targets through effective menu costing, food cost control, and inventory management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with the management team.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reports to inform business decisions.
Guest Experience:
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback to improve service.
- Lead by example, embodying the principles of hospitality to inspire the team and elevate guest interactions.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Adhere to food safety regulations, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Promote workplace health and safety by implementing best practices and addressing risks promptly.
- Ensure team members are equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits and performance bonuses.
