Our organization is seeking a talented and experienced professional to fill the role of Communications Manager. This position plays a critical part in protecting and enhancing our brand, reputation, and relationships with stakeholders across various sectors.

This is a full-time, ongoing/permanent opportunity that requires the ability to model our company's values and behaviors. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional media relations skills, including cultivating relationships with journalists, briefing media, and identifying opportunities for positive coverage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead proactive media relations
  • Act as the first point of contact for media enquiries
  • Develop and implement issues management strategies
  • Support the preparation of briefing material for senior management
  • Coordinate responses to Questions on Notice (QoNs) and other formal government inquiries
  • Project manage the development and distribution of our corporate reports
  • Manage the organisational key messages and corporate narrative
  • Coordinate the production of general communications content
  • Monitor and report on media coverage, stakeholder sentiment and emerging issues affecting rural industries
  • Drive best practice communications delivery
  • Manage and deliver the corporate media calendar
  • Maintain daily interactions with suppliers, contractors and agencies
