Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cook or Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create menus full of flavour and nutrition for children and their Educators, as well as be part of the learning experience when they help prepare food, forage from the garden, and learn about what they're eating.

The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, a passion for creating delicious and nutritious meals, and excellent communication skills to work closely with Educators and Teachers to incorporate food into learning experiences. They will also be able to ensure best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop seasonal, nutritious menus that respect individual requirements regarding medical conditions, food preferences, and cultural considerations;
  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks for children and their Educators;
  • Work closely with Educators and Teachers to incorporate food into learning experiences;
  • Ensure best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld;
  • Build strong relationships with the children, Educators, families, and the Centre community;
  • Recognising and celebrating great work by Cooks and Chefs in our childcare centres;
