Join Our Culinary Team as a Commis Chef

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring every dish that leaves our kitchen meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of exceptional guest dining experiences by embodying our hotel's culture. You will work closely with our senior chefs to prepare, present, and store dishes in accordance with established standards.

You will communicate courteously and professionally with guests and internal departments, escalating any guest feedback or concerns to senior chefs in a timely manner. Additionally, you will assist in service preparation by ensuring ingredients and equipment are ready and organized.

In this role, you will contribute to cost control through accurate portioning and proper storage. You will also follow standard recipes and procedures to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Your duties will include working across various kitchen sections and rosters as business needs require. You will maintain high personal standards in grooming, hygiene, and professional behavior, and support a positive team environment by mentoring junior staff and kitchen hands.

Furthermore, you will attend daily briefings and participate in training and development programs to continually improve your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • A Food Safety Certificate is essential.
  • Strong computer literacy skills are required.
  • Knowledge of safe handling/lifting procedures is necessary.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.
