Skilled Palliative Care Nurse Required
Mater Private Hospital Mackay seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Palliative Care/Oncology Ward on a permanent, part-time basis.
The nursing team provides specialist care to patients, their families, carers, and visitors. Our team works together as a cohesive unit, delivering exceptional patient outcomes and maintaining high clinical standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing all aspects of palliative care, including symptom management and end-of-life care.
- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments of patients.
- Completing PCOC assessments.
- Implementing evidence-based nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures.
- Ensuring quality and risk management are integrated into service provision.
- Maintaining Infection Control policies and practices.
About you

- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).
- Nursing experience in a medical ward setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles.
