The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia, with nearly 100,000 employees across NSW in our schools and corporate offices. Our purpose is centred on the delivery of high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Public Sector Contract Specialist to join our team in School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high-quality education facilities at their local public school.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing licence agreements, contractual arrangements, and related property matters for OSHC, Preschool/Long Day Cares, Canteens, and Uniforms on Public School sites between the NSW Department of Education (DoE) and various external service providers. You will work closely with NSW Government schools, service providers, and the designated regional Asset Management Unit (AMU), to ensure all parties meet their contractual obligations and service delivery objectives in accordance with relevant legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including NSW Government schools, service providers, and the AMU.
  • Develop and implement contractual agreements and arrangements that meet the needs of all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with the AMU to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and departmental policies.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters to support the delivery of school infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in contract management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to implementing the Department's and upholding the value of public education.
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance.
  • Current drivers' license.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $116,211 - $128,061 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work from home/hybrid arrangements as part of our flexible working policy.
