
Strategic Claims Manager

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic support to our Corporate Nominal Insurer claims teams and policyholders through the preparation and management of litigated matters, including work injury damages (WID) claims and statutory disputes in the Personal Injury Commission.
\This involves leading and supporting a team of Dispute Resolution Officers as direct reports, managing a portfolio of litigated matters, working closely with external legal panel providers to drive optimum outcomes, and providing legal advice on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters affecting workers' compensation claims.
\Additionally, you will be responsible for attending legal proceedings as our representative, supporting the claims team with stakeholder liaison regarding litigated and contentious claims, and ensuring the capability and capacity of team members to attend Personal Injury Commission events.
\Key Responsibilities\- Leading, supervising, and developing a team of Dispute Resolution Officers.
- Managing a portfolio of litigated matters and working closely with external legal panel providers.
- Providing legal advice on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters affecting workers' compensation claims.
- Attending legal proceedings as our representative.
- Supporting the claims team with stakeholder liaison.
We are looking for someone with:
\- More than 5+ years demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably with PQE experience.
- Strong leadership skills, focused on developing others, innovation, and problem-solving.
- Excellent understanding of Workers Compensation legislations and associated regulations.
- Current unrestricted NSW practice certificate highly desirable.
