We are seeking a specialist to lead complex claims with strategic impact.

High Value and Complex Claims
  • Manage end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures.
  • Provide strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities.

This role involves providing strategic advice, managing litigation, and collaborating with internal legal teams and external counsel. You will also be responsible for attending mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of high-value and complex claims.
  • Develop governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts.
  • Promote alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory).
  • Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory).
  • 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims.
  • Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems.
