Chief Legal Officer for Emerging Technologies

Aurecon seeks an experienced technology lawyer to play a pivotal role in enabling innovation while safeguarding legal and compliance obligations across the digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise on technology projects, including procurement, licensing, SaaS, data use, collaboration, and consulting arrangements.
- Provide legal and compliance support on issues relating to data, privacy, cyber security, AI, intellectual property, and emerging technologies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients and partners.
- Support development and implementation of governance frameworks, risk assessments, and policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders across Digital, IT/IS, Risk, and Commercial functions.
- 5–8 years PQE, with experience in technology, IP, privacy, data, and/or government contracting.
- Background in law firms and/or in-house environments, with exposure to technology-related legal matters.
- Commercial and pragmatic approach, engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, managing competing priorities in dynamic environments.
- Comfortable advising on emerging issues such as AI, digital innovation, and new technologies.
- Senior Counsel candidates should demonstrate autonomous operation on complex matters.
