Job Description:
About this Role: Our organization's Homelessness Services aim to empower women to make their own decisions and provide them with the resources needed to take control of their lives and participate in their community. This role involves providing alcohol and drug interventions, mental health support, group activities, and dual diagnosis counseling while overseeing the delivery of centre-based, group, and mobile support services.
We will manage programs supporting women and children experiencing homelessness, participants involved in the Queensland Drug and Alcohol court, and various programs focused on early interventions for families and women exiting remand.
About You:
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues affecting vulnerable individuals, with a strong focus on recovery-oriented practice.
- Experience in providing person-centred care, including intake and assessment, care coordination, counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Skill in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions that support client engagement, harm reduction, and tenancy sustainment.
- Proven ability to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate services and programs with a focus on continuous improvement and positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, respectful relationships with clients, colleagues, and service partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including accurate record-keeping, data collection, and report writing.
- Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment, with minimal supervision.
- Committed to professional development and continuous learning, actively contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Confident in applying quality and risk management practices, while promoting client safety, self-determination, and social justice principles.
- Familiar with participating in interagency networks, promoting best practice, and supporting service integration and innovation.
- National Police Check Blue Card (Working with Children's Check)
Benefits:
We strive to build an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ communities, people with disabilities, and people with a lived experience of mental health.
We promote a child-safe environment and are committed to providing ongoing care and protection.
