Operational Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Terminal Manager to oversee the daily operations of our terminal. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of safety protocols, and excellent customer service abilities.
This role involves directing and supervising transfer, receipt, and shipment of commodities, resolving scheduling and dispatching issues. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for managing labor to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime while maintaining safe operating procedures.
The successful candidate will maintain terminal safety programs to ensure compliance with policies, rules, and regulations. Regular communication with the Regional Manager on operational status, terminal problems, and business opportunities is also required.
In terms of qualifications, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience is preferred, along with a minimum two years of supervisory experience in railroad terminal operations and safety regulations. Customer-facing experience, strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The ideal candidate should be physically able to climb rail cars and ladders, work in various weather conditions, lift 50 pounds or more, and walk 1-2 miles per shift.
