As a Youth Ministry Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and strengthening our engagement with young people through the Bellarine Peninsula Salvation Army.

You will develop and implement child and youth-centred programs and connections that respond to the needs of the local community, train and oversee volunteers, and manage the youth and children's ministries of the Bellarine Peninsula Salvation Army.

This is a maximum-term, full-time position based in Clifton Springs, Victoria, reporting to the Corps Officer.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and assisting with the delivery of Corps programs and activities focused on children, youth, and families in consultation with the Corps Officer(s).
  • Advertising, coordinating registrations, and attending kids and youth camps run by the corps, Victoria Division, or National events.
  • Oversight and development of an effective mission focus for children and youth ministry.
  • Establishing links and building relationships with local schools and other youth programs in the community.
  • Monitoring programs to ensure they remain within set budgets.
  • Recruiting, training, and engaging volunteers effectively.
  • Participating in funding activities as guided by the Corps Officer(s).

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in youth and/or children's ministry.
  • Relevant experience in implementing, facilitating, and evaluating youth and/or children's programs.
  • Active promotion of The Salvation Army's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • A current Victorian Driver's license.
