Job Summary

Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic Surveillance Countermeasures Specialist to conduct technical security inspections, provide expert advice, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

About the Role

This critical role involves using advanced electronic equipment and techniques to identify and mitigate technical threats to Defence information and assets. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in electronic surveillance methods and countermeasures, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough technical security inspections at Defence locations across Australia and internationally;
  • Provide expert technical security advice and guidance to Defence personnel and stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure effective risk management and mitigation;
  • Analyse and reverse-engineer potential methods used by adversaries to compromise Defence facilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of [ salary $120,000 - $180,000 ] per annum, depending on experience;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and convey complex security information effectively;
  • Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably within a government or defence sector context;
  • A high level of physical fitness and ability to travel regularly.
