About Us
The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Countermeasures Specialist to conduct technical security inspections, provide technical security advice, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known as the Building Defence Capability Payment.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work alongside civilian and military personnel who secure Defence information from adversaries in an ever-evolving threat environment. The role involves using a wide range of electronic equipment and employing searching techniques to protect Defence locations from listening and recording devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical security inspections at Defence locations across Australia and internationally;
- Provide technical security advice to diverse audiences;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; and
- Lead small teams for domestic and international security operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A strong analytical and problem-solving background;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interpret and convey security policy information;
- A competent technical background enabling proficient use of electronic equipment;
- Extensive collaboration experience with internal and external stakeholders; and
- The ability to lead small teams and be accountable for team logistics and reporting.
Estimated Salary
$123,456 per annum (plus benefits).
