Aerospace Surveillance Specialist

As an Aerospace Surveillance Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining the security of Australian airspace and its approaches. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating sophisticated electronic equipment to detect, classify, and identify aircraft, surface vessels, and space objects within specified areas of operations. This includes monitoring space weather, decay of space debris, and satellite constellation health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radar systems, technologically advanced computers, advanced display systems, extensive communications systems, and intelligence equipment
  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete picture of air, space, and surface activities using a network of radars and intelligence systems
  • Classify and identify aircraft using data entry, manipulation of a Graphical User Interface, and recording of information
  • Develop an air/sea picture of Australia's approaches by interpreting and analysing information received from an Over the Horizon Radar
