Cyber Security Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security professional to join our team at the University of South Australia. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will contribute to the proactive cyber security operations and risk management efforts of the University.
You will be responsible for managing security threats and risks to the University's systems, networks, data, and support technologies, while also improving security culture. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2025, based in Information Strategy and Technology Services at the Mawson Lakes campus.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a qualification in cyber security, IT, or equivalent knowledge and experience. You will also have high-level customer service and communication skills, allowing you to work effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels.
You will have a commitment to ongoing professional development and be able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. You will also have significant experience in the administration of specific technologies associated with cyber security, including vulnerability management, endpoint protection, access management, and security operations.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the proactive cyber security operations and risk management efforts of the University
- Manage security threats and risks to the University's systems, networks, data, and support technologies
- Improve security culture and awareness among University staff
- Collaborate with technical staff from other teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
- Administer specific technologies associated with cyber security, including vulnerability management, endpoint protection, access management, and security operations
